Workshop 1

There is more to games than video games. For this workshop we will introduce different types of games including video games, physical games, folk games, street games and more.

We will discuss similarities between these and how they can give inspiration to each other. What can we learn and how can we use it? We will be playing street games and design our own games.

Workshop 2

When playing traditional folk games children have an incredible capacity to be poetic and creative. They often make up their own rules for games or they find ways to make them more co-operative and fair or just more fun.

At this workshop we will revive the inner child in all of us by playing folk games and talking about our childhood memories of social play on the playground. We will analyze the elements of physical movement, social dynamics, narrative, and competitiveness.

Playing and analyzing folk games of our childhood can be very inspiring and influence our creative work.

Bring photos and game props from your childhood memories from the playground.

Workshop 3

" A pilgrimage to a more playful life ".

Playing is a part of our DNA, it’s the fundamental way humans learn

how to interact with each other and the world around them. The

destination of the pilgrimage is to evoke creativity, expression and

emotion- through the art of play.

Our journey will take us through a

series of games, through which we will create a collaborative manual

to living a more playful life. These games are part fun and part

rebellion, leaving our traces through the landscape and exploring some ideas of The Situationist International (SI) Group.

We have broken up the art of play into five pillar that will serve as a guideline on our pilgrimage. These pillars are:

  • makes you happy, gives joy

  • makes you laugh, has a sense of humor

  • creates spontaneous thoughts

  • spontaneous movement

  • interactive social spontaneity

We will exercise these pillars in both our workshop as well as and

hopefully the daily life of those who come to the workshop.
